Alternative to nursing homes
A place where people are at the heart of our values
Maison du Soleil is a shared living space for seniors who are autonomous, experiencing a loss of autonomy, or living with cognitive impairments. It offers an alternative to nursing homes by promoting aging in place within a collective, safe, and caring environment. This model is based on a small, human-scale community that combines private spaces (individual rooms) with shared areas (living room, dining room, garden, etc.), in order to preserve personal privacy while encouraging interaction, social connection, and a sense of belonging.
Kindness, self-determination, and solidarity are the core values of the Maison du Soleil Association. It is committed to providing respectful support, fostering intergenerational connections, and promoting sustainable practices that serve the well-being of its residents.
Since January 2025, we have been partnering with the Caliel Foundation to co-create this new living space dedicated to seniors!

Frequently Asked Questions
How to join us as a resident?
To join Maison du Soleil, start by contacting us through our online form or by phone. A visit can then be arranged to explore the house and meet the team. Finally, an interview will be held to discuss your needs and expectations to ensure that the house matches your desires and requirements.
How is Maison du Soleil different from a traditional facility?
Maison du Soleil recreates a family-like environment where residents participate, according to their abilities and wishes, in daily life and decisions affecting them. With a high caregiver-to-resident ratio, it ensures personalized support and strong human connections. To preserve residents’ privacy, the number of external caregivers is limited. Family and friends are also encouraged to get involved through visits, shared meals, and events. This independent model, focused on inclusion and well-being, values both the residents and the caregivers.
Is it possible to become a volunteer?
Yes, becoming a volunteer at Maison du Soleil is not only possible but also highly appreciated! Volunteers play a valuable role by bringing their energy, skills, and good spirit to enrich the lives of the residents. Whether it’s sharing a friendly moment, leading an activity, or providing occasional support, every contribution counts. To join us, contact us and we will be happy to discuss the various volunteering opportunities that fit your interests and availability.
Does Maison du Soleil accept pets?
Absolutely! We love animals and recognize the essential role they play in the well-being and happiness of our residents. Their presence brings warmth and comfort to daily life. Whenever possible, we welcome pets while ensuring their integration respects the balance of community living. Each situation is carefully considered to meet the needs of both the animal and its owner.
Is it possible to receive visitors?
Residents can receive visitors or loved ones at any time, including spontaneously, although we recommend notifying us in advance to better organize the welcome. We encourage these moments of sharing, whether for meals, birthday celebrations, or other friendly occasions, with suitable common areas and personalized solutions if needed.
Is it possible to make a donation to the association?
Of course! By making a donation, you become an active participant in a unique concept: a shared home where inclusion, well-being, and self-determination are at the heart of daily life. Your contribution helps develop this innovative family-style model and provide a warm, human environment. To join this journey, visit our website, make a bank transfer, or contact us directly. Together, we build a truly different place to live.
Can I visit Maison du Soleil before considering an application?
Yes, it is absolutely possible to visit the shared home before considering an application. These visits are a great opportunity to experience the warm atmosphere of the house, meet the residents and the team, and discuss your expectations. We invite you to make an appointment so we can offer you a personalized welcome and take the time to answer your questions.
Can residents participate in decisions concerning the house?
Yes, residents play an active role in decisions related to the house, thanks to our associative model that places self-determination at the heart of its operations. As members of the association, they are invited to participate—according to their interests and abilities—in discussions and decisions on a variety of topics, such as activities, layout changes, or daily organization. This approach encourages natural and respectful involvement from everyone, while strengthening the sense of belonging to a true community.
